‘Wayne Season 2’ Release Date, Plot, Cast and More

On and off-screen, “Wayne” has proven to be the ultimate underdog since its debut on YouTube’s premium channel in 2019. In order to locate his father’s vanished Pontiac Trans-Am, Wayne (Mark McKenna) embarks on a deadly road trip with Del (Ciara Bravo).

Wayne Season 2

“Dirty Harry” meets “John Green” in this chaotic, vulgar journey, and fans gobbled it up like candy. There was never a shortage of those who wanted to help. Rather, “Wayne” was forced to live on the streets after YouTube chose to end its scripted originals business.

“Wayne” was revived in November 2020 when Amazon Prime purchased the streaming rights to Season 1. Wayne and Del’s jaw-dropping road trip adventure has risen in popularity since then, and those same people are yearning for more.

“Wayne” hasn’t been cancelled, even though Amazon hasn’t formally announced a second season renewal. This has resulted in an indefinite suspension of the critically acclaimed teenage drama, Rotten Tomatoes, which currently has a perfect rating of 100 percent.

Shawn Simmons, the show’s creator, has huge ambitions for “Wayne” despite the fact that Amazon hasn’t officially authorised a second season. To learn what we know so far about a possible “Wayne Season 2”, keep reading!

The premiere date for the second season of Wayne.  As of now, there is no official word on when Wayne will return to the show.

In an interview with Screenrant, showrunner Shawn Simmons revealed that he has the entire second season plotted out, so if Amazon decides to pick up the dark comedy once again, the team won’t have much time before shooting begins.

Additionally, it’s crucial to keep an eye on what the show’s cast members are up to. The Peacock adolescent drama One of Us Is Lying is now filming, and Mark McKenna has landed a significant role in the upcoming Peacock teen drama, according to IMDb.

The actor will go on a nationwide tour in the fall of 2021 with his (great, The 1975-inspired) band milk.

production Wayne Season 2

Peacock’s Tiger King-inspired show Joe Exotic has recently completed pre-production and will air in the fall, even though Ciara Bravo’s calendar appears to be open in the near future. Dean Winters, who plays her father, is one of the stars. In light of this, it appears that we won’t be returning to Brockton anytime soon.

If the show gets renewed for a second season, it’s possible that we won’t see Wayne again until the latter half of 2022. Even though they’ve waited a long time, those who tuned in to Wayne when it initially premiered on YouTube in early 2019 may still be satisfied with the outcome if it all goes according to plan.

Storyline

There was a lot of bloodshed in the first season of Wayne, which made the season finale all the more shocking for the viewers.

Del’s family and the police have finally caught up with the anti-hero and his buddies, despite his victory over Reggie and the return of his father’s car. To Shawn Simmons’ satisfaction, Inverse reports that Season 2 will almost probably begin with Wayne in prison.

There is a lot riding on Wayne getting his life back on track, earning back Del and finding the serenity he deserves. Could he possibly free her from prison in her stead? Honestly, we wouldn’t bet against him!

This may not be the case, though, if he’s making the effort to improve his behaviour in order to obtain Del’s father’s approval. When he holds her nameplate in the Season 1 finale’s closing shot, it’s clear that he will do whatever it takes to get her attention and save his own skin.

Storyline For The Upcoming Wayne Season 2

Although the future of Del’s character is still up in the air, Simmons tells Inverse that we’ll see more of her father. Because of this, it will be a significant struggle to either win him over or convince Del to flee next season.

When asked by Screenrant if he wanted Wayne to “feel something other than fury” in the future episodes, Mark McKenna replied that he did, and Wayne returning to Del might be just the thing to fulfil that wish.

Whatever happens, Simmons told Screenrant that he already knows where the action-comedy will go next season, having had a lot of time to think about it.

That sounds even bigger and badder than the first season. While we’re waiting for further information from Wayne, be sure to check back often because we’ll be sure to add it as soon as it becomes available.

The Cast of Wayne Season 2

A Wayne movie wouldn’t be complete without Mark McKenna, who plays the title character, a bad lad with a good heart who rides a motorcycle and wields a nunchuck.

It’s only right that Ciara Bravo, who plays spunky young Del, should also return to the series because of his emotions for the Bonnie to his Clyde (even if she is being sought by her father and goon-like brothers across state lines).

Wayne hasn’t killed anyone yet, therefore it makes logical for the rest of the cast to be back together as well. In the second season, more of Del’s father, Dean Winters, and her brothers Carl and Teddy (twins Jon and Jamie Champagne).

As well as the few who were looking out for Wayne, Principal Cole (Mike O’Malley), and his friend Orlando, as well as those who were on his tail, Officer Jay (James Earl) and Sgt. Stephen Geller, can be expected (Stephen Kearin).

Conclusion

Although Wayne has been captured and taken back to Brockton, it isn’t obvious whether or not we’ll see more of his enemies in Ocala, such as Reggie (Francesco Antonio), his stepfather Calvin (Kirk Ward) or perhaps his mother (Michelle Watkins).

If Wayne doesn’t get to take the automobile back north with him, we think there’s still a lot of fighting to be done in the area of that car.
