Invasion of the Lands of the Saga
Thorfinn grew up listening to the legends of elderly sailors who had sailed the ocean and reached the place of legend, Vinland.
His birthplace in a freezing Icelandic village, as well as his current mercenary life in a region where there is no need for combat, are both far apart from this idyllic setting.
His new home is in the midst of a war. Because of this, he was once informed by his father: “You have no enemies, nobody does. The more Thorfinn matured, the more he realised that statement was far from the truth: “There is no one you can harm.”
With each passing year, the conflict between England and Denmark worsens. As the Viking mercenaries see it, death has become the norm, and they are relishing it.
The Vikings are eager to create a name for themselves and take any prizes they can get by allying themselves with either side. The guy who killed Thorfinn’s father, Askeladd, must be killed in the midst of the pandemonium.
Is it any wonder that the Vikings are content to live in a constant state of conflict and death?
