The Purge Season 3: Election Year Will There Be a Third Season?

At this point, The Purge looks to have come to an end. In May, USA Network axed two of its shows: The Purge and Treadstone.

Reportedly, it was a smash hit in its first season, which is why it was pulled after only one season. The show’s linear viewership was down, despite its strong demo performance, according to the data.

Purge has a Tomatometer score of just 42 percent based on the opinions of 38 critics on Rotten Tomatoes. According to 263 user ratings, the show’s audience appeal is at a whopping 63%.

They all agreed that it was “bloated and dull,” proving that “not all stories perform well on the small screen.” Even though it was axed by the USA Network, other shows have found new homes on other networks or online services.

If Hulu, Netflix, or one of the numerous new streaming sites decide to keep the series going, so be it. However, due to the films’ continuous box office success, a final feature will be released.

Originally scheduled for release in July, The Forever Purge had to be delayed owing to the COVID-19 epidemic. There’s no official release date yet, but it looks like the final film in the series won’t be released until 2021 on July 9th.

Ana de la Reguera, Josh Lucas, Tenoch Huerta, Will Patton, Leven Rambin, and Cassidy Freeman star in the new film, which was directed by Everardo Gout.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the forthcoming film will “take Purge out of its regular metropolitan location while still dealing with class and race themes” as the other films did.

Updates on the cast of The Purge Season 3

There were 10 episodes in each season of The Purge on the USA Network, each with a different cast.

Jessica Garza played Miguel Guerrero’s sister Penelope, a fellow cult member, in the first season, which starred Gabriel Chavarria as Miguel and Jessica Garza as Penelope.

Among those who appeared were Amanda Warren as Jane, Colin Woodell as Rick Betancourt, Hannah Emily Anderson as Jenna Betancourt, and Lili Simmons as Lila Stanton, among others.

Derek Luke played Marcus Moore, Max Martini played Ryan Grant, Paola Nunez played Esme Carmona, Joel Allen played Ben Gardner, and Rochelle Ayres played Michelle Moore in season two.

With many other characters making appearances, these were the show’s main cast members. Additionally, a handful of the film’s stars made an appearance (see spoilers below).

There is a good chance that if another network or platform decides to pick up the show for a third season, they will bring in a new cast. We’ll be the first to know if there’s any fresh information about the show’s future.

Spoilers for the The Purge Season 3

All crime is lawful for 12 hours every day in totalitarian America in both seasons of the television show, which has strong connections to the movies. As a result, some people are free to go on killing sprees, while others are forced to battle for their lives.

Despite the fact that both seasons featured a Purge night theme, the stories and people dealt with it in a different way. The first season was set in 2027, which places it between The Purge films Anarchy and Election Year.

Cindy Robinson resumed her role as the Purge Emergency Broadcast System from the films in the franchise. Ethan Hawke made a brief appearance as security system designer James Sandin in the second Purge film.
