Three anime studios, A-1 Pictures (Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 3), Trigger (BNA Season 2), and CloverWorks (Darling in the Franxx), are working together to bring you Darling in the Franxx. The new season of the anime has not been announced by any of these studios.
Even Studio Trigger, which isn’t known for releasing follow-up seasons, hasn’t hinted at a second season of DITF. As a co-production between Studio Trigger and CloverWorks, Darling in the Franxx has a greater possibility of being renewed by one studio if the other decides against it.

Franxx Action With Darling
Klaxosaurs have driven humanity to the brink of extinction in the far future, forcing survivors to take refuge in huge fortified cities known as Plantations.
The only weapons known to be effective against the Klaxosaurs are FranXX, which are piloted by boy-girl pairs of children in the town of FranX.
Since these youngsters were only ever meant to be pilots, they’ve been raised to defend their people from those who would question their very existence.
