As the opening ceremonies of the Olympic Games began on Friday in Tokyo, two-time gold medalist and two-time NBA champion Kevin Durant seemed to be everywhere.
Durant seemed to be in good spirits and enjoying the moment as he prepared for his quest for an Olympic hat trick.
Whether it was joking around with his basketball teammates before the parade of nations or posing for pictures with fellow Team USA legends Katie Ledecky and Simone Manuel, he looked to be having a great time.
Olympics 2021 Team USA Sings Happy Birthday to Kevin Durant
All of Team USA witnessed the 2016 men’s basketball team’s performance of Vanessa Carlton’s “A Thousand Miles” on the plane ride over to Rio de Janeiro (special shout out to Olympic Carmelo Anthony) and sang “Happy Birthday” to KD.

The news that Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant was having a birthday circulated as Team USA prepared to march in the parade of nations at Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium. The basketball team sang “Happy Birthday” as the athletes filed into the arena.
If Friday had been Durant’s birthday, it was a nice gift from his teammates.
To put it bluntly, there is no comparison. When the year ends, Durant will be 33 years old. He was born on September 29, 1988.
Aside from giving teammate JaVale McGee a death glare, Durant showed little reaction as the crowd screamed his praises.

During the Olympic Opening Ceremony, the entire team wished Kevin Durant a happy birthday. Searching online, I found that Durant’s actual birthday is on September 29.
But you wouldn’t know it by looking at his teammates’ crazy birthday outfits. This man in Tokyo is being absolutely terrorised by them.
On Friday, when the rest of Team USA assembled in the halls of Tokyo’s Olympic Stadium in preparation for the Opening Ceremony, Kevin Durant stood alone, minding his own thing, engrossed in his cell phone. He had no idea that he was about to become the main attraction.
